IEC Classification Exercise on 3-5 of November 2015

On the 3-5 of November 2015 our dog handlers with SAR dogs participated INSARAG External Classification 36-hour exercise together with 40-membered Estonian Disaster Relief Team (EST-USAR). After passing the exercise successfully EST-USAR is internationally recognised as a INSARAG Medium USAR Team!

WCH for Rescue Dogs and IRO Meeting of Delegates 2015

On 23-27 of September World Championship for rescue dogs were held in Aalborg, Denmark. Competitions were held in three categories: area search, rubble search and tracking. Altogether 110 competitors entered from 21 different countries. Two competitors from Estonia both started in area search. Under the starting number 64 Monika Rusing with a dog Margman Wildfire Wanda achieved 46 points (one found victim) in area search and 85 points in obedience and dexterity part. Under the starting number 75 Kadri Viljalo with a dog Perri got 128 points (two found victims) in area search and 94 points in obedience and dexterity part. Unfortunately this was not enough to get positive result since all three victims must be found in search part.


On 28th of September the Meeting of Delegates of the IRO took place in Aalborg. Estonian Search Dogs Club has a full member status in IRO and the club was represented by board member Margot Luukas. The Meeting of Delegates got an overview on the activities related to the IRO president Michael Pernsteiner and took the position on the motions of the IRO Executive Board and member organisations. 

International Rescue Dog Day

On 26th of April, on the last sunday of april an International Day of Seach and Rescue Dogs was celebrated all over the world. Search and Rescue Dog Organisations worldwide were invited to present their work and activities to the general public in different countries! Estonian Search Dogs Club held a competition for rescue dogs on the same day where dog handlers with their dogs were demonstrating cooperation and skills in obedience and dexterity.

IPO-R competition in April 2015

This year the first test to the rescue dogs in area seach were held on 25-26 April 2015 in Harjumaa at Viimsi and Tallinn. National rescue dog competition in RH-FL was judged by Ms Katja Skulj from Slovenia and 14 dog teams were partcipating out of them 8 teams achieved positive results.

IRO MRT 2014 in Austria

Kadri and Perri arriving home at night on 1st of November

On 29-31 of October 2014 in Tritolwerk, Austria, ESDC's representatives Kadri Viljalo with Perri passed successfully an international IRO Mission Readiness Rubble Test as a first Estonian MRT-classified team! Very big congratulations to Kadri and Perri!

IPO-R exams in October 2014

In 10-12 of October 2014 this year's last exams in IPO-R were held in tracking and area search, judged by IRO judge Mr.Ruud Haak from Netherlands. In 3 days 22 participants were attending the tests, 6 participants in tracking and 16 in area search category. All participants got their results in tracking test and in area search 13 positive results were achieved, which made the event very successful event!
